Van Wilson

Van was born in Baton Rouge LA and from a young age dreamt of becoming a Navy SEAL. A two time high school state champion wrestler he was recruited by the Naval Academy enabling his passion to become a Navy SEAL. Van was selected for Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training, was Honor Man of BUD/S Class 253 and upon completing additional SEAL Qualification Training earned his SEAL Trident. Van played Navy Rugby A-side, number 8 position, for three years and was team captain his senior year. He had the strength, size, character, heart and leadership to dominate the pitch. He, very tragically, died in a car accident shortly enroute to his first duty station. Van Wilson is much remembered by his rugby teammates and others who had the privilege to know him as the epitome of what it takes to be a great teammate, a great warrior and great man.
