Originally from Jacksonville FL, Tom served as a Supply Officer following graduation from USNA. He was a two year letterman at prop for Navy’s Rugby team and a leader on the 1980 team that won the Eastern Rugby Conference championship and finished 2nd to Cal Berkley in the National Championship Tournament. Tom also played for the University of GA rugby team while in Supply School and was selected for both the 15’s and 7’s Combined Services teams at prop. Following his naval service, Tom was extremely successful in the business world and has built and sold companies in the healthcare industry. He has served on multiple Corporate Boards, including as Vice Chairman of CareSource, a multi-state Health Plan company. On returning to live in Annapolis, Tom was handpicked to chair the efforts to “make Navy Rugby a varsity sport”. His tireless work and creativity culminated in Navy Rugby becoming a varsity sport, going 18-0 and winning it’s first National Championship in 2023.
