CAPT Sean O’Brien (Ret) is originally from Cincinnati, OH and served as a P-3 NFO for 27 years. He commanded VP-4 and Patrol and Reconnaissance WING ONE, serving as commander of both CTF-57 in Fifth Fleet and CTF-72 in Seventh Fleet. Sean was a three year starter at tight head prop and was both the Club President and Team Captain in 1977. Sean was a dominant force on the field and his leadership both on and off the pitch was instrumental to the success of the 1975-1977’s teams. Additionally, he was the commissioner and head referee of the USNA Rugby intramural program, yielding numerous recruits for future teams. Following graduation, he organized and played for the Southern Maryland St. Mary Sinners and then Pensacola RFC. He ended his post naval career as the Acting Director of a DOD Program Office. He and his wife live in Fairfax, Virginia near their two daughters.
