Houston Jones

Houston hails from Hobbs, NM and served 24yrs active duty, commanding attack submarine USS Miami (SSN 755) and the Navy Nuclear Weapons Training Group, tasked to certify all Navy commands that employ nuclear weapons. Following retirement he was a marine mammal research scientist. He and his wife then lived aboard their 46' sailboat for 15yrs, extensively cruising the Western Hemisphere.  He was a 3 year starter at wing and the only underclassman to start for the 1972 National runner-up team.  He was selected All Potomac Rugby Union and All Eastern Rugby Union.  He went on to play A side for both Monterey and Coronado Rugby clubs and started on a select Navy team that played in England during Queen Elizabeth's Silver Jubilee Celebration in 1977.
