1993 Team
Outstanding Team
Inducted 2025
The 1993 men’s Navy rugby team re-established Navy as a perennial national contender. The team went undefeated through league play winning the Potomac Rugby Union before losing in the Eastern Conference Championship game to eventual National Champion Harvard University. The team won every high level tournament it entered and beat Army with a style of physically dominating play that defined Navy Rugby for decades. Three players from the 1993 team were All Americans, and many went on to play All-Navy, All-Marine and Combined Services rugby. Five members of the team were selected to tour France and Switzerland on the U-21 National Team. Today, players from the 1993 team continue advancing Navy Rugby’s mission to be the premier college rugby program in the country through generous contributions and support to NRAA.
